Meet Associate Attorney Jessica Kiley

Jessica Kiley was first introduced to Family Law when she graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and began working as a law clerk at the law firm of J. Hector Moreno, Jr. and Associates in San Jose, CA. It was in this position where she first met Ms. Hilton, who was working there as an associate attorney. In June 2012, Jessica left to attend Law School at the University of San Diego (USD). At USD, she focused on children’s advocacy, contributed to the Children’s Advocacy Institute’s annual publication, competed in Moot Court competitions, assisted on a DOJ grant to study the impact of human trafficking in San Diego County and interned at the District Attorney’s Office (all while getting married to a military man and enduring his multiple deployments!) Jessica graduated cum laude in May 2015.

Immediately after passing the bar, Jessica was hired as a Deputy City Attorney where she prosecuted misdemeanor offenses from arraignment to trial. Jessica received guilty verdicts on every case she took to trial, earning a reputation of being a fierce prosecutor. In the middle of her first year as a prosecutor the Kileys were overjoyed to find out they were expecting their first child. As Jessica got closer to the arrival of their daughter, she was moved from trials to the arraignment department, where she negotiated hundreds of plea deals per week and was respected by both Public Defenders and retained counsel alike for her reasonable but firm resolutions.

After taking a break from Criminal Law to take maternity leave, Jessica turned her attention back to Family Law, now having a fuller understanding of both criminal and civil law and the impact of both on children and their families. She has relocated with her husband and daughter to Bay Area and is active in her community and supporting her husband’s military career. But her favorite job is being a mommy to her daughter.

With a criminal, civil, and family background, Jessica is an asset to Hilton Family Law in many ways. She is bright and compassionate, which make her a client favorite. Her straightforward style earns the respect of her peers and opposing counsel.
